How do I count shakes and bars on Nutrisystem?
Nutrisystem Protein and Probiotic Shakes are your morning snack during your first week on the program. Going into week two, they count as one PowerFuel.
Nutrisystem offers a variety of bars, including breakfast bars, lunch bars and snack bars. You can feel free to rearrange your Nutrisystem meals and snacks throughout the day. However, be sure to eat just one Nutrisystem Breakfast, one Nutrisystem Lunch, one Nutrisystem Dinner and one to two Nutrisystem Snacks (depending on gender) each day.
If you’d like, you can also incorporate other shakes and bars that you enjoy into your Nutrisystem plan. To find out what your grocery additions counts as on the plan, take a look at the Nutrition Facts label and evaluate the calories, protein and fiber. This will help you determine how many PowerFuels, SmartCarbs and Extras it will contain.
1 PowerFuel is between 80 to 120 calories and has at least 5 grams of protein. It may also be 80-120 calories with at least 8 grams of total fat (with no more than 4 grams of saturated fat)
1 SmartCarb is between 80-120 calories and has at least 1 gram of fiber.
1 Extra is between 10-35 calories per serving. You are allotted 3 Extras per day.
