Nutrisystem Honored for Healthy Workplace

Nutrisystem isn’t just helping customers change their lives for the healthier, the company is helping its employees do the same. Nutrisystem recently received the Elite Corporate Health Champion Designation from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). This designation recognizes companies and organizations that inspire and encourage organizational well-being, and is part of the ADA’s Wellness Lives Here initiative.

To qualify for the Health Champion Designation, a company or organization must meet healthy living criteria in three main areas: Nutrition and Weight Management, Physical Activity and Organizational Well-being.

By offering healthy food choices and vending options, promoting nutritional information, encouraging employee participation in the physical activity events of the ADA, supporting employees who choose to walk or bike to work, encouraging employees to take the stairs, and maintaining an organizational smoke-free policy, the company met the necessary criteria for the distinguished healthy workplace designation.

“We are honored to receive the Elite Corporate Health Champion Designation from the American Diabetes Association,” says Nancy Adams, Vice President of Human Resources at Nutrisystem. “It is our commitment at Nutrisystem to make the health and wellness of our employees a priority. Our healthy living initiatives educate employees and encourage adoption of healthy habits both for themselves and their families.”

Nutrisystem has been a National Strategic Partner of the American Diabetes Association since 2009.
