The Nutrisystem® program combines Nutrisystem® weight loss foods with fresh grocery items for a healthy, balanced diet. Because fruits and vegetables offer nutrients, vitamins and minerals that are essential to optimal health, our program does promote eating at least four servings of veggies and one to two servings of fruit as part of your SmartCarb servings each day. In fact, because vegetables are such an important part of a healthy diet, many are available in unlimited quantities.
While we do recommend trying to have some fresh vegetables each day, if you can’t meet the four-a-day minimum, you can have a half cup serving of a low sodium vegetable juice as one of your vegetable servings. It is important to keep in mind that vegetable juices infused or mixed with fruit will not count as a vegetable serving.
