The National Sleep Foundation recommends that adults get seven to nine hours of sleep per night. And a study published in the journal Sleep found that those who slept fewer than seven hours a night typically had a higher BMI than those who slept more than nine. When you’re well rested, you have more energy and are more likely to work out and stick with your goals.
