Nutrisystem Restaurant Faves Bistro-Style Toasted Ravioli

Here at Nutrisystem, it’s no secret that we love cooking up perfectly portioned versions of your favorite meals and snacks. So when we heard that our customers had a hankering for some famous restaurant meal faves made Nutrisystem-friendly, we knew we had to step in and help.

Inspired by meals from popular restaurants and portioned with half the calories, these deliciously indulgent dishes provide the same famous flavor but none of the guilt.

1. Café-Style Creamy Tomato Soup

One taste of this guilt-free soup and you’ll be instantly transported to your favorite bread café! This stepped-up version of classic tomato soup is prepared with slow-stewed tomatoes, parmesan cheese, chicken broth and even some heavy cream. It has the same delicious taste you crave but is completely guilt-free.

2. Bistro-Style Toasted Ravioli

This plate of toasted ravioli rivals your favorite Italian-style bistro. It’s stuffed with a THREE delicious cheeses and covered in seasoned bread crumbs. Created as part of our new Restaurant Faves line—which are made to deliver the same great taste as your restaurant favorite foods but portioned to provide at least half the calories—this particular dinner is also portioned to be 50% less fat than the restaurant favorite meal that is was inspired by.

To prepare these crispy raviolis, the directions call for ¼ cup oil. However, please note that not all of this oil will be absorbed by the raviolis during cooking. (Only about 2 grams of the oil is absorbed by each ravioli. This equates to ~18 calories per ravioli coming from oil, or about 70 calories total per serving.) It is important to note that these calories are included in the nutrition facts listed on the Nutrition Facts Panel, so you do not need to add anything additional to NuMi when tracking this meal. Here are a few tips for cooking and serving these Bistro-Style Toasted Ravioli:

  • We would recommend making sure that the oil in the pan is hot before adding the ravioli. The prep instructions recommend that the oil be heated to 350 degrees. You can also dip the end of a wooden spoon into the oil. If it starts to steadily bubble, it should be hot enough to add the ravioli. If there are no bubbles, it is not hot enough and you should wait a bit longer.
  • Only one side of the ravioli should be submerged in the oil. If the entire ravioli is submerged in the oil, you may need to use a larger pan or use less than the ¼ cup oil.
  • Serving suggestion: We recommend rounding out the meal by serving this dish with a large salad. You can also add about 2 Tbsp. of a low or no-sugar marinara sauce for dipping.
