Baked Blackberry Brie Baguette appetizer

Impress your holiday guests with this easy blackberry and brie appetizer! This crunchy yet soft baked baguette is perfect for your Thanksgiving dinner table. Stuffed with sweet blackberries and creamy brie cheese, it’s a simple recipe that’s filled with complex flavors.

If you’re a fan of a sweet and savory combo, this five-ingredient appetizer (or side dish!) is sure to become a regular on your holiday menu. It only takes four easy steps to transform an ordinary, already delicious whole wheat baguette into a healthy starter that’s worthy of a special occasion.

To make it, take your whole wheat baguette and cut a deep “V” into the top of it. Pull out some of the bread to create a crevice where you can place the filling. Stuff four ounces of brie cheese slices into the crevice, followed by one cup of fresh black berries. Top the baguette with a drizzle of honey and pop it into a 400 degree oven for seven to 10 minutes. Once the cheese is melted and the blackberries are soft, remove it from the oven and slice the baked baguette into 12 thick slices. Finish up the dish with a garnish of thyme before serving.

The best part about this dish (other than how easy and delicious it is) is the fact that it fits right into your Nutrisystem weight loss plan. Each serving contains just 132 calories and can be logged as one SmartCarb and one Extra in your NuMi app journal.
