When we’re itching for a snack, it can be oh-so tempting to pick up a bag of fatty, unhealthy potato chips. Next time you’re thinking about derailing your diet with potato chips, think about “frying” up these homemade Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips instead!

If you haven’t gotten your hands on an Air Fryer yet, we can’t recommend it enough, and in the meantime, you can whip up this recipe in your oven as well. And the best part about these crispy chips—they’re super simple to make in both the air fryer AND the oven!

Learning how to make this savory snack is simple: peel and slice potatoes into thin slices and toss in pot with vinegar. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and continue to cook for another five minutes. Remove from heat, cover and sit for 30 minutes.

If you’re using your air fryer to bring these potato chips to a golden brown, simply place drained potatoes on the air fryer basket in one layer, spray with nonstick spray and sprinkle with salt. “Fry” for 10 to 15 minutes or until the Salt and Vinegar Chips have reached crispy perfection. Using the oven? Simply place the drained potatoes on a greased baking sheet, spray the potatoes with nonstick spray and sprinkle with salt. Bake the chips for 10 to 15 minutes or until they’ve reached desired crispiness.

Whatever kitchen appliance you use to make these healthy Salt and Vinegar Chips, one thing is for certain: they will satisfy your salty cravings and keep you on track with your weight loss goals.
