Vanilla Eggnog Protein Shake

Eggnog season has officially arrived and we’re craving this sweet, seasonal sip! The classic holiday drink is creamy, dreamy and an absolutely amazing addition to your blended beverages. In this egg-cellent eggnog protein shake recipe, we’re pumping up the nutrition by combining it with our Nutrisystem Vanilla Protein Shake Mix and some warm, winter spices.

You can still indulge in the delicious flavors of eggnog without falling off your weight loss plan this holiday season. All it takes is some lightened-up swaps to make the classic drink Nutrisystem-friendly!

Vanilla Eggnog Protein Shake

To make this recipe, grab your blender and combine two scoops of Nutrisystem Vanilla Protein Shake Mix, a half-cup of light or low-fat eggnog and a half-cup of unsweetened vanilla oat milk. Not a fan of oat milk? Feel free to swap in another milk alternative of your choice, such as unsweetened vanilla almond milk or cashew milk.

Next, it’s time to add the seasonal spices that truly take this eggnog specialty to the next level. Add a quarter-teaspoon each of cinnamon, nutmeg and rum extract to the blender, followed by a half-cup of ice. If you can’t find rum extract, vanilla extract is a tasty replacement. Blend all of the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Divide the eggnog protein shake equally among two glasses and enjoy immediately.

This Vanilla Eggnog Protein Shake recipe makes two servings. If you’re losing weight on Nutrisystem, you can log each 154-calorie serving as half of a PowerFuel and two Extras in your NuMi app journal.

Pro Tip: Non-dairy eggnog alternatives have become increasingly popular over the years. If you picked up a carton of almond milk eggnog and want to use it in this recipe, you can use the same amount (a half-cup) but be sure to take note of the calorie difference. One serving of this recipe prepared with almond milk eggnog (instead of low-fat or light eggnog) contains 119 calories and counts as half of a PowerFuel and just one Extra on Nutrisystem.
