What is Week 2 and Beyond on the Nutrisystem Program?

Continue losing weight with more food and flexibility, all while learning healthy eating habits for long-term success. Going into week 2, you’ll continue enjoying Nutrisystem foods and complete your daily menu with grocery add-ins. Plus, most plans also get more flexibility with weekly Flex meals and snacks unless you are on a 7-day plan.

The biggest difference in week 2 is that you will start adding in more grocery add-ins each day called PowerFuels, SmartCarbs and Extras. The specific amount and meal occasion that you add them will depend on your Nutrisystem program. Just like in Week 1, you will also add in Non-Starchy Vegetables, Water and Free Foods. Depending on which personalized meal plan you receive, you’ll be enjoying approximately 60% of your daily calorie needs from perfectly portioned Nutrisystem® entrees and snacks. To complete your Nutrisystem® meal plan, you will need to add in varying amounts of these additional grocery items.

Week 2 and beyond meal plan overview:

 On most days, you’ll enjoy:

  • 1 Nutrisystem Breakfast
  • 1 Nutrisystem Lunch
  • 1 Nutrisystem Dinner
  • 1 Nutrisystem Snack (2 for Men)
  • SmartCarbs (number varies by plan)
  • PowerFuels (number varies by plan)
  • Extras (Limit 3 per day)
  • At least 4 servings of Non-Starchy Vegetables (Unlimited!)
  • At least 64 oz. of Water (8 cups)

With most Nutrisystem plans, you’ll also choose when to enjoy Flex meals: You’ll eat 2 Flex breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks each week (men enjoy an additional 2 Flex snacks). Flex meals will replace your Nutrisystem Entrée for that meal occasion.

More than 100 lbs. to lose? Add 1 PowerFuel and 1 SmartCarb to your plan each day unless you are using NuMi SmartAdapt. Flex meals are not required for Nutrisystem 7-Day plans with Every Day Covered or the Uniquely Yours Ultimate Diabetes Plan.

Week 2 and Beyond Tips for Success:

  • Don’t deprive yourself! Daily grocery add-ins are a delicious part of your plan and they’re essential to your success.
  • We recommend exercising for 30 minutes each day. Activity can be broken up into three 10-minute sessions to fit your schedule.
