Nothing says fall like sweet cinnamon treats, fresh-picked apples and warm slow cooker recipes. We’re combining all three of these autumn staples into one amazing jar of goodness that is perfect for the season! Our healthy, homemade apple butter recipe comes together in your crockpot with just seven simple ingredients.

Making apple butter at home in your crockpot or slow cooker is super easy. All you need are some apples, maple syrup and a handful of warm and flavorful spices like cinnamon, ground cloves, nutmeg, allspice and vanilla extract. Place everything into a slow cooker, then set it and forget it! Just be sure to pop back over to your slow cooker about halfway through the cooking time to give it a stir. You should also keep a close eye on it towards the end of the cooking time to watch out for any possible burning.

Once the base of your apple butter has cooked for three to four hours, you’ll blend all of the ingredients into a puree using an immersion blender or a food processor. Place the mixture back into your slow cooker and cook on LOW for two more hours. That’s it! Now you have a tasty topping for all of your fall recipes.
