Enjoy nature’s candy at its finest. This easy Apricot Fig Spread is filled with so much natural sweetness, you won’t believe that there is no added sugar! It features just three simple ingredients (one of them being water) and is perfect for spreading on whole wheat crackers, toasted baguette and even on a sandwich for a sweet and savory twist.

There’s just something about figs that remind us of fall. It could be that they pair perfectly with maple (try them in our recipe for Fig Salad with Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette! >) or maybe it’s because they are at their peak during the autumn season. In fact, according to TheSpruceEats.com, “Figs have two seasons: a quick, shorter season in early summer and a second, main crop that starts in late summer and runs through fall.”

This fall fruit is featured in a delicious, homemade spread paired with the sweet flavor of dried apricots. Start off this easy appetizer by bringing dried figs and dried apricots to a boil in a pot with some water, then reduce the heat to a simmer for about 30 minutes. After the mixture is done cooking, allow it to cool slightly and place it into a food processor. Blend it until smooth, adding more water to adjust the thickness if needed. Place it into a bowl and serve with your favorite dippers or throw it in the fridge for healthy snacking all week!
