Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. light butter
  • 1 ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips together.
  3. Pour the milk and chocolate mixture into the flour mixture. Mix well.
  4. Preheat a waffle iron and spray with a nonstick spray. Pour in ½ cup of batter and cook according to the waffle iron manufacturer's directions.
  5. Remove waffle and repeat with remaining batter.
  6. Top finished waffles with sliced strawberries.
