The base of these waffles consists of whole wheat flour, unsweetened cocoa powder and baking powder combined with milk and chocolate chips melted with light butter. After cooking the batter in a waffle iron, we complete the meal by topping the finished product with fresh strawberries.   • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. light butter
  • 1 ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced


  1. Combine flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips together.
  3. Pour the milk and chocolate mixture into the flour mixture. Mix well.
  4. Preheat a waffle iron and spray with a nonstick spray. Pour in ½ cup of batter and cook according to the waffle iron manufacturer's directions.
  5. Remove waffle and repeat with remaining batter.
  6. Top finished waffles with sliced strawberries.
