We’re all looking for simple meals that we can throw together in minutes. One-pan recipes are the key to healthy dinners in a snap! We’ve created a 10-minute meal featuring a classic combination of traditional ingredients that’s easy to prepare (and clean up!). Savory chicken sausage and sauerkraut come together in harmony with a blend of bell peppers, onions and spices. Whole wheat gnocchi also makes an appearance as the satisfying SmartCarb that truly sets this dish apart.
To make this easy one-pan dinner recipe, simply heat some olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Throw in some sliced chicken sausage, chopped onions and peppers, garlic powder and black pepper. Cook the mixture for about five to seven minutes or until peppers and onions are soft. Finally, stir in the sauerkraut and cooked whole wheat gnocchi. Finish cooking for another two minutes or until everything is heated through.
That’s it! You can’t go wrong with such an easy recipe. It’s also versatile and you can swap in your favorite type of sausage, such as turkey, beef or pork. Sauerkraut also comes in many different flavors! Feel free to also mix in other non-starchy vegetables that you enjoy. It’s a simple one-pan sauerkraut dish that’s easy to customize!
