Air Fryer Apple Almond Butter S’mores
Recipe posted in: Flex Meals & Snacks, Snacks, Snacks, DessertsWhen it comes to healthy snack options, fresh fruit with nut butter is one of the most popular choices. Apple slices paired with almond butter is a quick and easy snack that has it all: Sweet and salty, crunchy and creamy, delicious and nutritious. We’re combining this snack time staple with another classic treat: s’mores!
If you thought that almond butter and fruit was the weirdest thing about this s’more, wait until you see how it’s made! For most people, s’mores are restricted to campfires and summer parties. But if you’re like us, you want to be able to enjoy this fireside favorite all year long. This dream is now a reality with a little help from your air fryer! In addition to crispy chicken, French fries and mozzarella sticks, the air fryer can also create decadent, diet-friendly desserts. Today, it’s taking the place of a standard campfire to create a classic s’more with a twist.
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees and place two graham cracker squares into the air fryer basket. Instead of chocolate, spread each graham cracker with a teaspoon of almond butter. Top them off with a thin slice of apple and a marshmallow. Cook for three minutes in the air fryer, then cap them off with another graham cracker square before digging in! Just be careful as the s’more will be very hot after removing it from the air fryer. You may need to let it cool down a bit before you take your first bite.
Healthy Hacks: Because almond butter is so versatile, feel free to swap out the fruit with what you have on hand! Try berries, bananas, pears and even cherries for a sweet substitution. If you’d like to add another Extra, feel free to add a bit of chocolate for s’more flavor.
